  • Chavez is da man

I hear he uses the country's oil production money for education and food and social welfare. The company that exploits the oil is state owned and that's why he's been thrown mud in some western media. Luckily he has the cubans on his side and protect him from any attempts of a coup d'etat by the bourgeois parties of venezuela and the US.

His mottos are national independence and autonomy etc.

    Very cool.

I should add that I've danced with a venezuelan girl once and it was very exciting because she kept doing those swirls and twists and turns with her body and oh man.

I'm a leftist liberal, and my opinion of Chavez is higher than most, but I would like to see some reliable statistics of exactly where the money is going.

Cause ya know, after Stalin I'm kind of suspicious of extremely leftist states.

Chavez is up for a review next week.

His own constitution is being used against him, but he has so far stuck to the law.

It's going to be hard for him to win given that almost all the media in Venezuela spend their time promoting the view that he is insane.

Hard to say what's going to happen...

His supporters sure as heck don't give a damn to what the media have to say about him. The right wing reactionaries supported by Uncle Sam love to see him go.

Maybe, if the referendum fails to unseat him.

I imagine just wrecking it without the pledge doesn't either.

                              Gee, imagine that.

I don't know if that's going to make such a difference. They have to get an equal +1 number of votes to remove him from office, and he got at least 56% of the vote in the election. While the bourgeoisie of Venezuela hate the guy, he's extremely popular among the lower classes, and they happen to make up the vast majority of Venezuela's population.

I expect that the opposition will cry foul if they don't win, and maybe attempt another coup. If they do, expect them to try and kill him this time, since leaving him alive last time was a mistake. If he's alive, he can be freed and restored.
