  • I suppose it would be bad form for me to participate in a threadjack/spamfest to push this thread to the limit, so I wont.

    • Terrible, we lost one.

I must say these bozos have gotten more press than I thought they would, but then, the current quality of the press is horrible, so I should have known better.

There have been a few good political cartoons about this, thought.

      • Well, if you posted some, or links to them, it wouldn't be either spam or a threadjack, now would it?

Its not hard to understand, now is it?
The only problem with this analysis is that MtG is a rational, intelligent, Southern patriot. I find it hard to believe he would even consider voting for a Northern Liberal Lying Scumbag.

As opposed to a Fake-Southern Religious Fundamentalist Lying Scumbag like Bush?

At least Kerry acknowledges his northern roots.

                  • Well, I'm sure MtG would vote for Bush over some people. Like Jack the Ripper

                    • GePap, MtG has made it clear that he is a hardcore member of the "ABB" (Anybody But Bush) faction. He hardly is a fan of Kerry.

The things MtG list as Bush's failings (deficit, etc.) are typical failings of liberals. MtG is consistent here at least in his conservatism. The problem is he is being irrational thinking that a move to Kerry would be a move to the right, which is where MtG seems to want the nation to move.

                        Its not a "right-left" issue.

He falls rather hard in the middle, social liberal, fiscal conservative. Bush is a social conservative, and has proven himself fiscally irresponsible (in MtG's parlance, liberal). Hence, the opposite of MtG.

At least Kerry agrees with 1 set of positions, as opposed to Bush, who falls against on both.

In four years, if/when the Republicans put up a better alternative, or if President Kerry is the spectacular ****up you fear he will be, I'll be happy to vote to replace him, too. As long as Bush doesn't try to pull a Grover Cleveland.

If Kerry was dangerous on the boats or a ****up, you wouldn't take months and bogus citations to deal with it - it would be easy to just make him some sort of supply or administrative officer, or just flat-ass transfer him, if there was any vaguely justifiable basis for doing so.

Given a lack of contemporaneous evidence of any nature, all you can do is guess that this might be so in order to manufacture a trace of credibility for these gents.

If Bush pulled a Grover Cleveland and kerry turned out to wipe his ass with the constitution as well, would you consider voting for a 3rd party candidate?

At the fleet or division level, yes. With a boat squadron (or whatever the hell the squids call it), or an infantry battalion in the field, things can happen a lot quicker if the local commanders are motivated to make them happen.
