  • My sister's husband dead in Iraq - may Bush rot in hell.

I just received a phone, my sister, the one who is severely scarred from childhood burns, just had her husband killed in Iraq. She thought he was safe, the handover and the fact he got lucky and was deployed in an Abrams, but they got him outside the vehicle. Total irony - she had just received the forms back for in vitro (they had been trying to conceive and were having some problems).

I have thoroughly disliked this administration from the start, but now it's personal (for any US security personnel and data miners out there, I will work against Bush via the toll both, no other way). My sister may end up staying with us this summer, once she sells the house and all that. Any ex-military, or military spouses out there, have any suggestions for her on how the military handles this. Plus, does the US Army try to play games with the widow the same way they do with service-related disablilities?

There's not that much more to say, except he's dead. Unnecessarily (if it had been in Afghanistan that would have been totally different). Under false pretences. At least I voted against the fool, and as I've stated before I wanted McCain - after spending the length of time he did in a Vietnamese prison cell, he would not have so lightly started the Irag conflict. This is what you get when you elect a chickhawk who talks about how dangerous his practice flights out across the Gulf of Mexico were .

My condolences to you and your Sister. I hope your Brother in law didn't blow off his chain of command everytime they told him they needed to update his Page 13 (250k life insurance policy).

Lonestar, I'll make sure foward that info to her - since he joined after they got married, she's probably OK. By the way, I meant voting booth, through polls, and then totally scrambled on my first post.

My condolences to you and your sister, all those touched by his life.

hang in there man. I get furious when something bad happens to my kid sister, I couldn't imagine if her (currently non-existent) husband was slain in such a manner.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Lonestar, I just fowarded to my sister your info on the insurance (he was a lawyer, and typically very good about keeping all the paperwork up according to my sister). It helps, she was doing the typical high-speed worry about everything upset. It really helped her out. Thanks.
