          More than likely.

Leasehold? That always seems like a really silly idea to me...what is the point, you may as well just rent (as you will be losing value constantly on the shortening of the lease). Thamesmead is a funny place. The Western/Northern part looks alright, the other section is dire. And there is nigh on no public transport connections - only buses serve Thamesmead - unless you fancy a fairly lengthy walk to Plumstead or Abbeywood...

Fortunately Badgers Mount hasn't gone that price silly.

Not that silly?! That is very similar to my mother's house in Hull - however that would cost £130k...

Actually I realised that one is a 4 bed detached whereas my mother's is a 3-bed semi...but apart from that, they look very similar...

...for an equivalent where I am from up north - about £180k...although if you are in a quite upmarket region of the city you could pay out about the same...

It's stupid I tell you...how are people meant to manage with these stupid figures being demanded of simple bricks and mortar?

It's the land that costs. And land is a great "internaliser" - all the benefits that markets can't charge you for using get pinned onto land values. Ie, good transport links, good schools, green areas, etc.

House costs act like a sponge for externalities.
