  • "In Your Face" style.

It's more like, "setup all the variables that let me ambush my subjects and tips scales (pun intended) to make me look like I am in charge and in control with no chance of retribution by the person I am ambusing since I have totally set the ridiculous situation up out of context."
We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. - Abraham Lincoln

    • I reiterate the coments made many pages ago that Conservatives view any "context" in which Bush in viewed unfavorably as "out of context". His style is one of catching ones subject off guard, ridiculing and mocking them, it is NOT an interview and cant be judged on thouse standards. If your at all familiar with the Michel Moore show the segment involving the Congressmen is a perfect example of what he did in thouse shows. You judge the person being "ambushed" by seeing how they react to a stressfull questioning of their values much like a debate. Any congressmen with the balls to accept such a thing (and not run away like many did) has already impressed me regardless of what comes next. Moore has on ocasion found individuals who "stand and deliver" under the preshure.

An outlet with a Pro-Bush bias would usualy use a sleazy tactic such as never asking the hard questions or giving all the question in advance. Politicians consistently give "Canned" responses in these situations which completly fail to answer the questions asked. Moore's style breaks through that stuff to get to the core of the person or isshue.

P.S. I would like to congradulate GePap on his well though and constructive posts througout this thread (and all others I have read). He consistenly raises the IQ of any thread he partispates in.

Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

      • A healthy democracy needs people like Mike Moore and Rush Limbaugh. Free speech is pretty meaningless otherwise.

            • I went to see it last night. I noticed a lot of conservatives there. They were a little vocal. I commend any conservatives or moderates that go to see the film. Good for you!

Anyway, I'm wondering what went on in your head when the film showed GW in the classroom of second graders after the first plane hit the tower, and he just sat there like a dear caught in the headlights. How do you justify this in your mind. He just waited for the business there to finish. Jeez, a president couldn't look like more of an incompetent boob.

              • I suppose there is the alternate viewpoint, as expressed by the principal(who didn't vote for Bush in '00) at that school, who felt that Bush handled the situation well by not panicking, by not running out of the room. But, we will all interpret the event as our political bias dictates.

I guess you could say he didn't panick, although he looked a little panicky. The point is that he didn't do anything. He didn't even make sure that his subordinates were acting correctly.

                  • They either were, or they weren't. By the time he got out of the school and to a location where he could effectively communicate, it would have been too late.

You make it sound like he knew how long the attack would last. I was holding back and assuming that he didn't.

Assuming that he didn't know how long they would last it was sickening to watch him sit in that classroom for what seemed like real time, but maybe was shorter.

After the first plane? Who was thinking terrorists then? It wasn't until the second plane hit that people suddenly became aware that this was a terrorist action - before then, it was just a tragic accident. Sad, yes, important, maybe, worthy of the President's attention, not at that moment.

Is there a way that I can watch this film without having to financially reward Michael Moore?

You make it sound like everyone knew this was a coordinated terrorist attack and that Bush could have stopped it.

You may have missed the part where the messenger said, "Mr. President, America is under attack!"
