You have somewhat of a point, the only times I play fruit machines are when I have a spare few quid burning a hole in my pocket, I don't mind if I lose. But if it was absolutely clear to me that if I put my money in the machines I'd be getting nothign back, no way would I ever play.

I reckon it's easy enough to have the lowest payouts occur often, like every 2 or 3 times you pay.
