Religions are determined by their followers. Therefore some sects of Islam can be fascist, just as the same can be true for sects of Christianity, Hinduism, or Shinto(ism?). As to whether the majority of religious Muslims are fascist, which is what you might mean to say, that is a difficult question. Certainly such Muslims exist in great numbers in proportion to other Muslims, both religious and irreligious, as evidenced by many Muslim's support of Al Qaeda. But sadly in many dictatorial countries these fascist sects are tolerated or encouraged covertly by the government so as to encourage hatred against the West rather than violence against the dictatorship. This is probably the reason for the high proportion of fascist Muslims.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

I can be intelligent when I choose to... but most of the time I choose to be a stupid *******.

. Undoubtably many national socialist elements too. However, Muslims feel a brotherhood with other Muslims, regardless of their state, whereas non-Muslims tend to define themselves on more nationalistic grounds. While I don't believe in God, it is my opinion that a belief is something infinite and all pervasive as a more valid argument for grouping people together than something arbitrary like a nation (though of course ideally we shouldnt be grouping people at all). Round one to Islam thus far .

Nonetheless, I contend that most people who would generalise about Islam, calling it the "fascism of the 21st century" and what have you are looking at it from a somewhat egocentric view with little understanding of either the history, the cultural influences or indeed the variant individual influences. So bad troll.

'Everything within the State, Nothing outside the State, Nothing against the State'
That's more of a definition of totalitarianism than of fascism. And I'm sure that any half-way radical Islamist would be the first to admit that their Islam is extremally totalitarian (ie applicable to all spheres of life).

                        Short answer: No

But any religion can be exploited by mankind to justify the most evil of acts. Christianity/Judaism/Hinduism/Islam, etc.

Its the people in power that carry out and pervert religion for their own ends.

All religions are fundementaly pro-human, they were 'created' for the purpose of provideing a frame work of rules to live by, like an early law back in the mists of time, so people wouldn't just go around killing everyone else without regaurd of the consequence for their actions.
This is i believe the fundemental reason behind all religions, of course there are many layers on top, but i can imagine primitive man needing some guidelines(as in fact we still do).

Edit: put bold on the point most people seem/choose to be missing

Yeah, I agree with Boshko - for example the Taleban ruled as a totalitarian regime, and those AQ guys would do the same if given a chance. But to extend this POV over Islam in general, or call it fascism as done in the first post is nonsense.

Is Islam a form of fascism? I would have to agree. While not necessarily in the same form as the Nazi's, Islam is being warped into a religious "crusade" against foreign invaders.

AFAIK, so long as you are within the faith of Islam, you are considered "ok".

Fundamentalist Muslims don't believe in states, so it's a little hard for them to be fascist.

No. Fascists believe in nation above religion (frequently altering religion to be more patriotic) whilst Islamic fundamentalists believe the opposite.
