Thursday June 4th marked the death of my daughter. What started on Wednesay as a routine OBGYN check up ended as a nightmare for my wife and me.
Wednesday started just like all the rest, me running a bit late getting our 4 yr old, Madison, ready for day care. I check to see how "mom" is doing and am glad to hear the reassuring "shes moving pretty good this mourning".
Fast foward to 11:15. Get paged at work. I answer. My wife is in tears and trying to hold it together. She says the ultrasound showed no heart beat and she is off to the clinic to have herself checked out further.
I rush out of work and on the drive over leave some frantic messages for my boss and friend Who was to help us in the case of delivery.
11:30 arrive at the clinic and get ussured directly back to the ultrasound room. I can tell immediately by the hushed tones and somber mood the new is bad. Our daughter who was alive that morning and due for delivery in 2 short weeks is dead.
Fast forward to 1:30 am June 4th. Delivery of a beautiful girl. Perfect in every way excepting she is not alive. 4 lbs 4 oz. 18 1/2" long. Gabrielle will not be coming home.
Our other daughter Madison bless her soul came in during the night to comfort mommy and give her a big hug and kiss. She doesn't understand why she can't have her little sister come home with her and wonders if she really is a big sister. (She is such a sweet girl who was so happy at the thought of being a big sister).
We are all devastated.
I can write no more for now.
