It's not that good a test - a lot of the questions I thought, "The way they worded it, I have to disagree, even though I agree with what I think they're asking" or the reverse... and there's no "abstain" option.

Make another one of those charts.
Yes, please. That one is hardly complete. Excluding people will skew the data. Why was that?
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is not a vice." -- Barry Goldwater, 1964 GOP Nomination acceptance speech (not George W. Bush 40 years later...)
2004 Presidential Candidate
2008 Presidential Candidate (for what its worth)
yeah, make a complete chart. And we can have the chart at the top of off-topic so anyone entering off-topic will know the political views of everyone in it
It was amazing to see that the majority of us, myself included, are in the left/liberal quarter. Anyone want to take a stab on analyzing why that is?

Well, part of it has to do with where the axes intercept. It's pretty arbitrary, if you think about it. Another part would be the wording of the questions and how they are open to different interpretations. Yet another part would be the fact that there just tends to be more "liberal" minded people here. Like attracts like, and all that.
"The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned
"you people who bash Bush have no appreciation for one of the great presidents in our history." - Ned
"I wish I had gay sex in the boy scouts" - Dissident
Its has nothing to do with the libertarian/authoritarian axes, almost everyone on the chart is libertarian. Its just that the majority here are political lefties.
What's the precise definition of dead-center? Why isn't something slightly less authoritarian and little more to the left economically the dead-center? Or the opposite?
You're right about the mix of people here, though.

I dunno but I guess people here are more intelligent/highly educated than I'd imagined.
