Who said HONDA, INC was pricing it less? You ever been to a dealer, Asher? They'll sell you cars for less than the sticker price if they are running a deal.

My parents got their former car, the Ford Windstar back in the day for a few thou off the sticker price.

The base price for this was $12,654.

I clicked the "View 2003 Styles" link, and got the equivalent hybrid:

2003 Honda Civic
4 Dr Hybird Sedan

The base price for this was $16,756.

Where do you get $14,000 for either car?

The assumption was a new car, since used car pricing varies wildly.

I don't know if you'd be worse off with a used hybrid, but it'd probably be hard to find as well.

I just think the technology isn't fully there yet. They're weak and they're not that much better than good gas cars at mileage. Another factor is hybrid cars are far more complex, which means higher maintenance costs.
