[Dis]

do you like it?

I have tried to get into it when I was in school. But perhaps I do not have strong enough social and language skills to fully appreciate it. Simply put, I think it's crap . But somebody must read this stuff, as poetry has been around thousands of years.

There is good poetry, you just need to know where to look for it.

Poetry is best when heard rather than read.

And has been popular with virtually all people at virtually all times.

Currently most clearly in the lyrics to pop tunes and raps.

Free verse is not poetry. Poetry is harmony between the rhyme and the sense. If either of these components is missing, it's not poetry.

There once was a very bad poet,
Although he did not even....realize
He tried to make it rhyme,
But it didn't at all
And it was probably the worst limerick ever,

I like poetry. I don't read that much, and haven't written one for at least 2 years, but I do like them. My sig being an example

BTW, although I said most poetry was crap, I voted that I like poetry.

Of all limericks this the worst,
Second line no better that the first,
The syntax it wrong,
The fourth line is just a little bit too long,
And the last line don't even rhyme.
