That's pretty false. The British military won't pull out.

Worse than Stalingrad? What are you? Stupid or something?

Has anyone seen any news with military officers actually explaining the military situation on the ground? The situation seems to get worse day by day. What are the actual number of effective US ground units? How is the supply situation? What is the precise number of 'insurgents'. How loyal is the Iraqi army? Are the Coalition allies capable of defending the southern supply route? Are they even going to stay? Where is the UN? Will NATO get involved?

You're very weak. Go get some other strawman attack. You are a hit and run troll. You post crap and you run away when disprovened. The situation is not getting worse and is infact getting better.

[Blair's] warnings came as the commander of British troops in southern Iraq, Brig Nick Carter, admitted that he would be powerless to prevent the overthrow of Coalition forces if the Shia majority in Basra rose up in rebellion. Brig Carter, of the 20 Armoured Brigade, who has been in Iraq for four months, said British forces would stay in Basra with the consent of local Shia leaders, or not at all.

Last month, 14 British soldiers were injured in Basra, at least three seriously, when they came under attack from demonstrators armed with petrol bombs, rocks and a grenade.

"A crowd of 150,000 people at the gates of this barracks would be the end of this, as far as I'm concerned," Brig Carter said. "There would be absolutely nothing I could do about that."

Senior military officials fear that insurgents may be planning a "spectacular" as they mount last-ditch efforts to disrupt the US-led timetable of restoring sovereignty to Iraq. Fighting in the Sunni-dominated city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, where an estimated 1,000 Iraqis died in clashes last week between American soldiers and mujahideen rebels, is causing particular concern.

BAGHDAD, April 17 (Reuters) - Insurgents blew up bridges over a main highway from Baghdad to southern Iraq, further disrupting the country's battered transport system, witnesses said on Saturday.

They said debris from blasts targeting at least two bridges closed the Baghdad-Hilla road, one of two highways leading to the port city of Basra.

The U.S.-led administration said in a statement that two highways, including the Basra-Hilla route, were closed for repairs and to help halt guerrilla attacks against U.S. forces and supply convoys.

The U.S. military said it had no information about blasts targeting highway bridges.

But a traveller who came from Hilla said: "The guerrillas are after U.S. supply lines. American convoys are having to drive off the highway and go through rough terrain around the bridges."

The military also closed another main highway leading north of Baghdad on Saturday.

Sunni and Shi'ite Muslim insurgents in central and southern Iraq have severely disrupted the transport system, harmed trade, and restricted supply routes.

Iraq's oil ministry has stopped importing gasoline through Syria, Jordan and the Gulf because of poor security along western and southern highways.

The western highway leading to Syria and Jordan is deemed too dangerous to travel as insurgents fight U.S. forces in and around the city of Falluja.

Now it seems to me that the supply situation is getting worse. this is classic military doctrine. first the supplylines are cut. And then the attack begins. Also flyers have been passed in Baghdad by the Combined Mujahedin Brigades warning people to stay indoors.

Wow they blew up bridges. There are plenty of others roads to get into Baghdad. Again you prove your total ignorance of the fact that you know nothing about what is happening. WTF is wrong with you anyways? Why do you want the coalition to lose? Warning people to stay indoors? That rabble will be crushed to pieces. The supply lines aren't cut moron. They can't be as the coalition has a firm control of the land and the air. As long as they have a firm force in the air, the rebels can't cut supplies.

Of course. Insurgents are not stupid. But this does not equal Stalingrad. Furthermore, that's classic guerilla tactics and that's how it's done and what happened in Stalingrad was a mayhem and beyond words.

This, this is normal, not disrespecting the hardships of the coalition troops in the country or playing down their struggle.

Officials at the Ministry of Defence acknowledge that a planned scaling down of British troops in the region in coming months is unlikely to go ahead. There are 13,000 British soldiers in Iraq, and the MoD had earlier said that their number would be reduced first to 9,000 and then to 1,000 in 2005.
It was revealed yesterday that President George W. Bush gave Mr Blair the option of withholding British troops from combat before the war because of the domestic opposition the Prime Minister faced over the Iraq invasion. According to a book about the war, Plan of Attack, by the veteran Watergate reporter Bob Woodward, Mr Blair is said to have replied: "I said I'm with you, and I mean it."
This is from the same article you posted Tripledoc.

Secondly, EVERYONE expected the violence to go crazy as the deadline approaches. They will do whatever the hell they can to make things look worse right before the deadline hits.

Some crazy sh1t is about to go down but the transition is going to go forward.
