  • Bush speech

Some uncomfortable moments so far. Nice to see some journalists have got their spines back.

    Thoughts?

Bush is looking absolutely dreadful. No wonder his handlers never let him do press conferences, he is looking like an idiot.

Of course no politicians really answer questions directly, but he just isn't good at dodging. He is bumbling and rambling and looks quite like a fool. I'm amazed his advisors even let him do this open press conference, and I'm surprized they didn't prepare him better.

He's doing pretty well. And you nescient kids don't know otherwise. I mean you hate him because he is Bush and you attack him where he doesn't have a weakness. Very baseless and very weak. The only fools around here are those who criticize him.

Are you trying for another catch phrase, Giancarlo?

I'm sorry, but "nescient" doesn't have much of a ring to it. You can stop puting it in every post you make.

I think he is doing a really good job. He appears thoughtful, honest, and sincere.

Sounds like it might be fun to watch a recording of this tommorow. (preferably of just the awkward moments. )

Someone post a link when it's available.

He is also doing a very good job in answering the questions. He appeared with great conviction and great strength. He wasn't moved by any of the questions.

You should just grow up and stop attacking the man because he is Bush. It gets very old.

Giancarlo, we all get that you like Bush, but I mean just look at the conference unbiasedly. He stumbled the whole time. Couldn't get words out, gave extremely unsatisfying answers. No matter what he was asked he said "uhh, the bad guys are bad and we're gonna get them."

No he didn't. He made a stand against some unreasonable reporters and he even made the statement "I understand how some people would feel of the situation and see some doubts". Apparently you didn't watch it.

I think he sounded awkward a lot, especially when he refused to answer the questions. But he also seemed sincere and resolute.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
