The judge is definitely being unethical and it's a disgrace that he's allowed to continue with the case.

As for the issue with the fetuses, yes, it's definitely a problem if they are in pain for some portion of the abortion procedure. It's my belief that causing pain to any non-intelligent, non-conscious life-form is wrong. That's why I'm a vegetarian.

However, I wouldn't expect the government to outlaw meat-eating, and I'm not expecting them to outlaw this. If they institute rules that any abortion procedure must be painless, I'd be entirely in support of it, but I'd also tell whoever was responsible that they're being hypocritical unless they give similar respect to animals with the same thought capacity as the fetus (probably most of them).
