The only problem with places that have huge beer selections is that at any time 1/3 of them have probably gone off from sitting around too long.

You can keep good beers for long time though. Just be carefull with the bottom bit ( nothing wrong it, loads of energy in there but not so good for ,hum, your bottom )

It's not though. Here's the description:

        INGREDIENTS
American Two-row, wheat, special roast, roasted barley, english crystal malt, honey, cinnamon, ginger and cascade hops.

        FLAVOR
Renowned for its spicy flavor, this beer is brewed with cinnamon and ginger. Honey is added to deliver strength and complexity.

Depends how much cinnamon and giner they put into it. How converted is it, is there a sweetness to it. Classify it as a dessert beer?

Oh no, it's definitely a beer beer. Not so sweet, but the aftertaste leaves you begging for more. If I had to drink one beer for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Well it also depends on how they're kept. If it's not in a cool, dark place they'll go bad in less than a year.

Brewpubs are the best places to drink beer here, although there are some brewpub chains that I try to avoid. Capital City Brewing Co. here in DC has an excellent porter that tastes delicious at room temperature.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                      Why? Bad beer?

Some brewpub chains add carbonation (or what seems like carbonation to me). I think this must be to appeal to the taste of those who drink Bud Light on a regular evening.

I can't remember whether it's Gordon Biersch or John Harvard's that is the culprit, though.

I'll keep Capital City Brewing Co in mind whenever I make it down that way.

                            Do.

They also have a Baltimore location, IIRC.

As long as things don't get too fizzy I don't mind a bit of carbonation. Does it affect the taste?
