BC is right, like in most cities that have developed in the UK since the industrial revolution, the East of the city isn't as nice as the West overall. That is John Prescott territory with all the docks and stuffThis is pretty central in the city (not city centre, but geographically).

The PhD is an interesting one but I think I will pass on that, at least for now. I just see myself heading in a different direction to that academic stuff nowadays.
Ah, Hull is OK, it is the post-uni stuff that has been a killer, trying to get a half-decent job and things not quite going according to plan...Speaking of Erith:
