Sorry to hear that (funerals, at least) and happy to hear of the interviews.

That was a real good game. I was reminded of the ND-USC matchup. USC has the "in command of the game" thing down pat.

These guys are going to be scary the next couple of years.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Yep... USC looked really tough, and with not many seniors...
They will be good for the next few years, and really looked like a number one team to me

Pete Carroll has shown himself to be a damned good college coach as well. And Chow is going to be demand for big-time head coaching jobs.

They are good in both offense and defense. Michigan has a good, balanced offense. Despite this, they were manhandled. But the USC offense plays beautiful football. Real fun to watch.

              Sweeeeeeeet.

              Clemson 27, Tennessee 14.

              Oh, and

              UGA 34, Purdue 27 (OT)

Listening to the people here in Knoxville the past month, you'd have heard that Tennessee should've declined to go to the Peach Bowl, given that Clemson was so far beneath them. One caller to a local talk show even called it the "Peach Scrimmage."

This is just one of those perfect Bowl years, where the good guys win (UGA, I don't g.a.s. about the rest), the bad guys lose (UT, FL), and the BCS gets f***ed.

Oh, and lest we forget: GA 41, UT 14. And also, GA 30, Clemson 0. Not that I'm bragging or anything. Plato.

My opinion about the BCS: I'm glad USC is getting screwed as it shows the BCS for what it is: an idiotic travesty perpetrated on sports fans because of the short-sightedness of a few idiots. I can't believe that the NCAA (or whomever) is convinced that the BCS will bring in more money than a 3 or 4 round playoff system.

The BCS rawks. USC is a bunch of wimps. They lost a game and played a crappy, wimpy schedule. Much weaker then LSU or OKL. And michigan is much weaker then OKL or LSU (as bowl opponenent) plus they have like programming to lose the Rose Bowl.

Hmmm... USC's schedule was ranked 37 and LSU was 29th... sounds tons weaker to me

They couldn't look like a #1 team, since they played a team with 2 losses.

Both the fumbling and mistake oriented teams playing tonight sure don't look like a number one team. In comparison to what USC did, they just plain suck

Not their fault... blame that on the BCS. The first time in history that a team that ranked number one in the country in both REAL POLLS didn't even get invited to the championship game... shows what a true farce tonights game is. The good news is, no matter which of these teams wins, USC will be a national champion. They will just have to share it with the winner tonight.

Let me see...which is a lower number? 29 or 37. no-brainer to me. USC can eat ****. They should have not lost a game. Then they wouldn't need to whine.

The BCS understands that 29 is less than 37. So since they have to pick one, they pick the one with the better schedule. Makes perfect sense. Don't need to bother with anything else. blathering about when they lost...or what the polls say or other minutia. Equal records and different strenght of schedule. no-brainer.

USC is a wimp school. I think Apolyton could put together a squad to take them.
