I can only forgive you if your English heritage leads you to hate the French. We love our French heritage, not because of hatred toward some foreign tribe, but basically because it speaks about the French; this attitude is sometimes named arrogance.

      [Answering to French bashing mode]

As there were complaints from dedicated French bashers, that French bashing was not funny when it was not answered in kind, we have established a permanence to provide this necessary service.

      Statistical anomaly.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Later he created the Boy Scout movement, which in turn became a model for many boy scout organisations, including the Hitler Jugend. The second thing is the whole elitist educational system developed by the Anglo-Saxon educational system. For instance Eton, where military training has a big role to play. But also other schools were militarized, including Oxbridge. The perfect expression of this is the movie "IF", were British bording students violently rebel against the overly militarized and religious educational system.

Also you can see it has been the elitist Ivy League universities who have defined and made the rules for such sports as basketball, American football, and so on. Today it seems to me that this, while is is of course "only sports", has served the purpose of making militarized anglo-saxon culture a key element of the American educational system. People often forget that this key element is the result of a top down influence, and that the recent excursions towards multiculturalism is perhaps a reaction towards that dominance.

              Insert country here.

During WW2 my grandfather was mostly in Africa and the Middle East, so most jokes were against the Italians botched efforts.

Again, as Spiffor noted, some of the French tanks were better. And the poor deployment is what killed them
