Myth: Globalization does not result in more people in the former republic of Hedjaz consuming more quality Coca-Cola products.

      Fact: Wrong, it does.

Coca-Colonization... that phrase is 50 years old. What goes around, comes around.

I've also heard about Globa-Cola. Has anyone?

The US did remove all farm subsidies in the mid-1990's. The US did this after the EU promised to follow suit once the Us showed leadership by removing its agricultural subsidies. What did the EU do after the US removed its subsidies? The bastards raised their farm subsidies.

Ask Chirac. He seems to drop his pants every time a farmer wants him to.

Do you have any cites for this? Certainly something I've never heard of. But then, judging from the date (mid 90s) we'd have to suppose it was Clinton' reign (who was a bit more... progressive than Bush, to say the least).

In fact, event though we can't say he was liked, he seemed to enjoy much more respect from the international community. I've never seen a US president more despised than Bush in my life.

Two wrongs dont make a right. I don't see why our domestic policy needs to be dependant on another country's. Do you? Do you enjoy paying twice for your food and clothing? Do you enjoy paying more for your food and clothes than you would? Do you enjoy having the blood of dead africans, asians, and developing country farmers who can't get a job because of these subsidies? If you voted Bush, Gore, Nader, or not at all, you are morally responsible for their deaths. Think about that the next time you support a policy because somebody else broke their word.

It was the "Freedom to Farm Act" and it was pushed by Republicans in Congress who wanted to end subsidies which they saw as being a waste of tax payer money. This has been researched and talked about to great extent.

                              • Here's a quick analysis of what happened to the FtF act by the National Center for Policy Analysis: http://www.ncpa.org/iss/bud/2002/pd010302c.html

and by 2000 subsidies provided farmers 49 percent of their net income
