      st_swithin: Good point... I'd far rather nuke Japan than France. Think of all the porn that would be lost . That would be a wholly unacceptable situation. Japan

        well, don't forget the added benefit of creating GOJIRA 10000 in the aftermath. this time, GOJIRA will be so HUGE that he, like the ANGELS, will be able to STOMP TOKYO-3 in one fell swoop, before heading off to crush SAN FRANCISCO!

          What dangerous fallout will come out from fusing Deuterium and Tritium?

            That's what I thought Az. Fallout from fusion isn't possible, is it?

              I've heard that you can technically drink a ml of tritium or even heavy water and probably be ok, but I don't know anyone who's ever done it. I don't want to be around any substance that requires the wearing of a dosimeter, that's all. I'm paranoid.

                  well, deuterium is stable. heavy water, however, is poisonous. the extra neutron somehow throws some of the chemistry in the body out of whack.

                  tritium is radioactive.

                  but fusion is a lot safer than fission. besides, the amount of power they're going to be getting out of this little box is going to be negligible.

                      You sure heavy water is poisonous? I wasn't aware of any serious chemical differences between Deuterium and his younger brother. ( and I sorta should know ).

                      OMG NO, IT'S HELIUM, WE'LL START TALKING WITH FUNNY SQUEAKING VOICES NOW!!!!

                        Yeah, that would make the US even more popular worldwide than it already is.

                          from what i recall, heavy water is poisonous. not toxic toxic, but it's not something you should be drinking. it's that extra neutron, so...

                          ===

                          ah, found some sources. so it's not very poisonous, but it's not really that healthy.

                            We already have the nukes for that.

                            This raises a question:

                            Why does Russia, who depends on oil and will probably go bankrupt when Fusion power arrives, participate in this research, while other, powerful, energy resource importing countries, like Australia, China, aren't participating?

                            This has such amazing consequences that it's funny that noone does this. Actually, it ain't funny. It's VERY VERY sad.

                                thanks Q^3. never knew this. Chemists use deuterium atoms. They're useful in synthesis process research.
