not for oil
There is little possibility the war is for oil.
- Opec would not allow the price of US oil to drop to low levels, they would lose money. Saudi Arabia and other nations would also lose a great deal of money if the price of oil dropped
- If iraq oil was so important, why didnt we go after it in 1991 when the world was supporting us?
- Economics- lets say Iraq can produce a maximum of 10 barrels of oil a year, 1 goes to the US and 9 to Europe. After the war 4 barrels go to America, 6 to Europe, the price of oil in europe increases, why would they allow it?
- If the above becomes true, then OPEC just regualtes Oil to readjust distribution so that prices do not drop.
Conclusion: the war was not for oil but for some other reason.
