  • Well, it's official: Spurrier has hired an agent to help him get out of his contract with Washington...

What a shame for Skins fans that they gave up Stephen Davis just because he didnt fit Spurrier's "system"... and now Spurrier is jumping ship after only 2 years.

        • atleast spurrier got em laverneous coles. I'm not sure the cap hell the skins are in for. but they have an awful lot of talent u gotta imagine that someone could go in there and coach up some victories.

          • I just heard on ESPN Radio that the Bears have asked for, and received, permission to interview Lovie Smith.

Atlanta has the inside path on Smith. Blank has stated how much he likes Lovie in the past and Lovie seems to be leaning towards the Falcons.

Because he was able to get rid of Davis. I'd rather take Davis over Coles if I was the Redskins.

              • ESPN is saying the 'Skins say that Spurrier resigned! Spurrier is saying 'no I didn't' . Either way, it seems Spurrier era is coming to a rapid close.

The Steve Spurrier Era in Washington ended Tuesday when the frustrated second-year coach fo the Redskins resigned, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

Oh, and the Jets fired Def Coord, Tim Cottrell, for reasons I don't understand. Some team better jump on him 'cause he's a good Def Coord.

Guess we have to wait for the dust to settle.

I think coles worked out really well. especially considering that peerless didn't.

                      I'd probably take coles.

Peerless also didn't have a competent QB throwing to him for most of the year .

And ask 'Skins fans if they'd rather have Davis back or Coles? They'd probably go for Davis, especially when you look at Carolina, who aside from Davis had much less talent than the 'Skins.

thats no small amt of players. kinda concentrated on position tho.

davis has like 1400 yards and coles has like 1200 yards.

                          • Davis was a cornerstone of that Skins team everyone thought had a chance. Now he is the cornerstone of the Panthers who suck on most offensive fronts. What ever happened to Westbrook? I thought he was a sure star in the NFL.

lotsa teams have chances. where are the bills? No1 would have called u dumb if u thot they had a chance.

for my money I wouldn't have put any of it on the redskins tho.

                              • Well again for the most case the NFL had a pretty good group of teams this year. Any team could have won on any given week, well except for my godforsaken Raiders, they just plain sucked this year. They even sucked by losing, the Chargers still get the first pick next year due to schedule.
The playoffs will be the true test, hopefully some underdogs get some big wins and make it exciting.
