Why not "Black Equality" if they merely want blacks to be equal? "Black Pride" means nothing more than saying that it is somehow special to be black. It isn't, any more than it is special to be white.

What you are saying is that when peope come to the U.S., they should realize that they are going to have to adapt to life in America and accept some of our ways.

In fact, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people immigate to the U.S., and try and force their kids to live in the old ways Greeks, Indians, Arabs, wtc. all fal into this habit. My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding was a pretty accurate description of most Greek dating habits I know. Lordy, if you're gonna move to another country, don't be surprised when your kids don't group up to be just like you!!!

No, because I'm arguing for freedom for their kids, not for how they think of themselves and what cultural elments they have. I have friends how have no choice but to marry other Greeks, because otherwise their family would just go nuts. My Indian friends have had to have arranged marriages. But the kids, typicaly, are more American than Greek or Indian, and so they aren't real happy, but to preserve the family peace, they go through with it.

Yeah, but that is their parents' culture, is it not? Freedom for the kids to get married to whoever they wish is an American ideal, not one for these cultures. Are you saying they should be more 'American'?
