  • Hey Rush Fans!

Rush has released a new 2 CD live "album", "Rush in Rio", and a DVD of the same performance, albeit 2 songs shorter than the CD version. If you've listened to the CD's or seen the DVD, offer your opinions. I'm more interested in the DVD since Best Buy was out of it so it'll be a few days before I can pick it up...

In addition, I found a Mexican DVD release of their '89 live album, "A Show of Hands", which I was pleasantly surprised to see on the rack. Damn thing better not have subtitles.

Now to make my Thanksgiving/Christmas even better, let's hope Pink Floyd comes out with some new music, although I'm not holding my breath.

I heard Deep Purple had a new CD coming out but I haven't seen anything yet... My old favorites are making comebacks.

    Minus Richie Blackmore of course

I was convinced it was about Limbaugh until half-way in.

Yup, that was one of their early albums and for many diehard Rush fans, that was one of their best. Although I actually like their stuff from 79-89. Man they ran off a string of great albums ending with "Roll the Bones". But their last live CD was "A Show of Hands" in 1989 so this new live CD(s) has stuff from later releases including Roll the Bones...

You know, I hate to make fun of this further, But until the word "their" appeared I still was very convinced that this is Rush Limbaugh. that made "Rush in Rio" all the more puzzling.

I liked the part when the guy finds the guitar and "discovers" music... really good

Not big on Rush, but I think they are good. Can't be into every band in the world or I would go broke

Another reason communism doesn't work. You're supposed to post meaningless spam in the forums where it counts, not the one forum where it doesn't.

I already have a live Rush album - Different Stages

It's a 3 CD set. Are there any classic Rush songs missing that are on the new one?

Not when I'm shelling out $20 for the CD's and another $25 when I find the DVD and $20 for the DVD of "A Show of Hands". There's only 3 or 4 bands I'll do that for...

My favorite is rush album is Permanent Waves. I spent many a weekend barreling down the slopes (as opposed to actually skiing) with that blaring in my ears.
