Moreover, if big pharma sells directly to the Canadian govenment then pharma IS in fact freely contracting.
It has reached a point where large organisations are directing people to the Canadian suppliers as they are cheaper. I heard something about New York city or state government in the news over the weekend.
So now the medical associations and pharmacists are getting pissed off due to the threat to the health care system for Canadians.
However, it's not as simple as turning off the tap to Canada. For any drug out there, there is a Canadian company that could produce more than enough of it for our own supply. So it's a balancing act for the companies and the GoC.
It does have the makings of another trade skirmish though.(\__/)

Luckily, I am my parents only male child, so I can't get drafted.
The draft is morally repugnant when a large chunk of the population is not behind a war, aka Vietnam. Conscription should only be used in World War-sized conflicts. Also, it excludes women, violating the equal protection clause of the 15th amendment, so does not letting women be in the infantry.

I can't say I was a big fan of female machinist mate's. Their mechanical ability was average at best. They mostly ended up doing paperwork for the division.
