  • sure, bullying can have an effect on the kids more than the parents. i'm just pointing out that games are comparatively minor, and therefore stupid to legislate against, or sue.

when will parents grow balls and finally admit that if their kid sucks, it might not be entirely someone else's fault?

Given time, a boy will get through a simple locked cabinet to get weapons (I could when I was a child). A layered defense is recomended, such as mine:
Locked gun STEEL cabinet or safe, no external hinges (trust me, wood and hinges is just too easy); Trigger locks; dummy keys to locks somewhat hidden (lots of fun to catch them trying to use the dummy keys ), real keys always in my possession.

      • It isn't illegal to sell these games to minors. Maybe it should be but until then....
        Hehehe.

At my retail job, I basically supervise the front end (about 30 or so people). Every so often, one of my cashiers, usually the new ones, will get a concerned look on their face, and ask me if we should ID people for "mature" video games, "parental advisory" CDs, or Skinemax-style soft porn. My answer, every single time is as follows:

*laughter* "Nope, not at all. If the parents don't like the fact that their kids have the games/CDs/movies, then the parents can return them or discipline their kids, or they can not drive their kids up to a store and let them go buy whatever they want, unsupervised. Either way, though, it's not our problem, and quite frankly, I don't really care anyway."

I think that about sums up my point of view
