Except that even puny peons like you and me can see George all the time... That would be something George's angels.... Not as sexy as the original ones though.

NO! They are not the same deity at all. Allah was originally the Moon God of various Arab tribes back when they were polytheist. It has nothing to do with Yawheh who revealed himself to the Israelites centuries prior.

Furthermore, they teach radically different things. The God of the Bible teaches salvation through grace. Allah teaches salvation through works. If they are the same deity then why do they teach radically different ways to salvation?

Also, if they are the same deity, then why did He tell the Jews that Jesus was his only Son and then tell the Arabs that Jesus wasn't His Son?

Yes, Allah means "god" in Arabic but it is not referring to the same deity as the God of the Bible.

The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

                  True about God:

Yahweh is the monotheistic god. But his concept probably merged with the Canaanite deity 'El', or even spawned from him, since the hebrew word for 'god' is 'El'.

Since, Hebrews are most likely a canaanite tribe ( much like the Phoencians, the Ammonites, and the Moabites), and the story of Abraham describes some refugees from the Mesopotamian region, who brought Yahweh, and merged him with god, It's not a coinicidence that 'Allah' was the god which muhammad chose to show the muslims as the monotheistic god, the one god.

One of the most fascinating passages in the bible is the meeting of Abraham and the priest of El in ( not surprisingly ) Jerusalem.

Makes lots of sense? Explains a lot? You Betcha.

I heard a report today that his comments were taken out of context. He at the time was talking about a Moghadishu warlord that worshiped money and power.

Still, the comments by the General were a bit much, IMO. The admin should do something to distance themselves from them.

Since your country is supposed to be separated from the Church, that sure would be welcome. Such comments could give the image that your agenda lies on religious zeal; it would be a terrible image.

That's ok, because the "God" of the Bible is not referring to the same deity as Yahweh of the Torah .

Oooow, I see a Trinity thread coming on here, because Muslims believe that it is incorrect to say God is 3 people, but at the same time 1.

The Torah is in the bible.

WTF are you guys arguing about? The God we are all talking about is the God who created the heavens and the earth. How can this be two different Gods?

Of course, when we start adding in Christ and the Holy Ghost, things do get complicated.
