    Yes, selective hearing lose can greatly reduce stress.
    Not just the wife, but kids too.

            For the last 10 years I've been pretending to lose my hearing. So when asked the "no win" question, I just pretend I didn't hear it. Any question that has to be repeated 3 times starts to sound stupid.
            indeed. i've been doing that for the last five years on general principle. it's a fracking great excuse to not talk to someone, if you 'can't' hear them...
