  • Anyone else pissed at the new movie "The Alamo"?

It is portraying the Americans as the "brave innocent victims fighting against the evil mexicans!".

Which as anyone with a historical backround knows is utter bs....

Texans were illegally crossing the border in large numbers and breaking Mexican law(i.e. slave laws amoung others).

When these aggresive settlers who are telling Mexico to F off are slaughtered wholesale, how are they brave, innocent victims :?

No. It looks like it might be entertaining. I don't go to movies for history lessons.

well it's okay with that submarine movie. It's okay to demonize white people.

But this film is not politically correct. It should not be showing the mexicans in a negative light.

For a film that tries to break this mold, you might enjoy the new movie about Martin Luther which is far more accurate than not (allowing for the limitations of the medium, that is).

yes but by showing the whiteys as the good guys, well you know what that leaves the mexicans as...

And no John Wayne in this movie

Uh, this looks like another movie trying to compensate for the fact that US doesn't have an interesting history. I'll pass.

The trailer was only slightly less ponderous and boring than the Seabiscuit trailer. Ugh.

Does the movie make any mention that one reason for the conflict, was that some white settlers who were slave owners, were violating Mexico's abolishment of slavery??
