I am always amazed at how popular this album is. I can easily think of 10 or so grunge albums (Core, Dirt, Superunknown, Vitalogy, etc.) that I like better. Not to say Nevermind isn't a great album, it is, but it's not even Nirvana's best album.

If I had to pick a song, I'd say Drain You. "The water is so yellow, I'm a healthy student." Great lyrics .

I like Lithium, but Bleach was a much better album.

bleach wasn't as polished as nevermind was. there were more rough edges there.

That's why I don't listen to it anymore. Polished albums and raw energy music don't mix.

I really like the new one they just released as well, "You Know You're Right." I'll bet the other ten or so songs Courtney Love is sitting on are just as good. Maybe we'll all get lucky and she'll get hit by a bus or OD and stop ruining Nirvana's legacy with her greed.

I still say CAYA is the stand-out track from the album. Kick-ass guitar solo in there.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

It's plagiarised. They were just about to be sued by Killing Joke when Cobain topped himself. Check out "Eighties".

I didn't realize how tough this would be. It's like asking which pile of gold you'd rather have. I'm also partial to Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.

My feelings exactly, but since noone has picked it..

Smells like ( way overplayed but still an incredible powerfull song)

I'm just gonna have to put this album on when I got home now.

I prefer rough edges. Polished music usually seems a little stale IMO.

it all depends on the producer... Butch Vig i think was able to capture the energy yet polish the sound a little bit. besides rough edges do not necesarily make energy or a good album. i offer metallica's st. anger as proof. god damn that album sounds like ass.

I totally concur. Nirvana is totally overhyped. If Cobain didn't blow his head off they'd be just one of the big Seattle bands. I think Pearl Jam are objectively a helluva lot better than Nirvana. I like Soundgarden and Alice in Chains more too. Go figure.
