Umm...Haven't they had three games this year that they didn't score an offensive touchdown??

    • I'm having deja vu with this Michigan-Ohio State game. I'm flashing back to Michigan-Notre Dame this season.

See, back then, my brain was telling me--Michigan in a blowout. No way can the Irish compete; no way in hell. Michigan will win by at least three TDs. BUT, my gut was telling me--these games are always close. Notre Dame has that magic touch. It'll be tight; Michigan will win, but it'll be nervewracking.

Same thing this week. I look at Michigan, and I see the most balanced, most explosive offense east of the Mississippi and a defense that has been possessed for the past month and a half. I look at the Buckeyes, and I see a scary defense, great special teams, but an offense that couldn't find its own ass with two hands and a map. No way they're able to keep the OSU defense off the field for very long; and before too long, that defense will be worn down. 8 men in the box? Navarre will bomb away to Edwards, Avant, and Breston. Drop back into coverage? Perry will run the ball right up their gut. It's inevitable. Michigan by at least 2 TDs.

BUT, my gut tells me--Christ, OSU should have lost at least 6 or 7 games over the past two years, but they are 24-1. There is a reason; I can't explain it, but there is a reason. This will be close, and if it is close, it'll likely come down to the kicking game; and if it comes down to the kicking game, Michigan is in trouble.

Thus far, my brain is up 1-0 over my gut. Let's hope it goes up 2-0.

Nope, They've scored offensive touchdowns in every game. Maybe your thinking of last year.

In the last three games they've played their opponents haven't scored an offensive touchdown against them, maybe that's what you were thinking?

        • I think he's confused OU and OSU.

Speaking of... since basically nobody outside of Ohio wants to see a OU-OSU Sugar Bowl, I think I speak for the vast majority of 'Poly college football fans when I say:

Indeed I was. Apologies GhengisFarb. OU is definately looking unstoppable. OSU is definately looking stoppable.

Seeing OSU in the Sugar Bowl would be the end of any credibility that the BCS has left IMO.

The VOLS have Vandy today...so I guess I'll be watching THE BLUE for any excitement. (Of course I AM looking forward to Ole Miss-LSU as well...Go Rebs!!)

                  • Honestly it looks like I will have tickets to the Sugar Bowl this year and Oklahoma will probably play but I don't think it is going to be a very good game.

But I will still have fun.

                      Congratulations to the Poms, BTW.

                      • Game starts in 10 minutes. If USC or Michigan (really long shot) plays Oklahoma it MIGHT be a decent game. Ohio State and LSU i think would get crushed like everyone else.

                        • Furthermore, if OU played any other team in the Top 10 (save TCU and Texas, who they own), I'd guarentee you a close game. OU is being built up so high and while they are damn good, they ain't as good as everyone is saying.
Just a minor quibble - while OU certainly outclasses UT, they don't outclass them by 63-14. I think that UT would do a lot better than that, given another chance this year. Probably wouldn't win, but it'd be closer.

                          • Michigan up 7-0 over OSU. Looks like this is going to be a real good one.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt.
