  • What´s the real difference between...

...post-modern and modern? I mean generally, not related to art. Isn´t post-modern just nonsense? What comes next: post-post-modern, post-post-post-modern?

For me we are still in a "modern" era - which recycles itself.

So who proves me that I´m wrong?

I do with this simple assertion: you're as wrong as wrong can be.

Damn, that wasn't as hard as I thought.

It's all relative, like anything else.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I am sorry. I am so angry at postmodernists, that I have to cool down before I write down my full explained answer.

Modernism- the idea that human progress can solve every concievable problem. Prevalent roughly from the Enlightenment to 1960-something, but more specifically 1900-1960.

Post-Modernism- the realisation that such a quest is futile and that our perception is more-or-less subjective in every case, since we're so driven by our language and culture and stuff.

Errm - there are a couple of modernization theories that do not follow the naive "progress is always good" path, but reject post-modernism.

I think that basically it's what Buck Birdseed said and in the arts it, not unexpectedly, translated into enthusiasm for modern creations and the age of disellusionement for port modernist works.
