      Watched 'French Connection' again last night.

      For me the 70s were when Hollywood was still making films for grown ups, not mallrats.

      'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore', 'French Connection II', 'Race With The Devil', 'Wise Blood', 'Electra Glide in Blue'...'Superfly', 'Across 110th Street', 'Short Eyes'- any one of them wipes the floor with those irritating John Hughes films.
