So it tastes like crap, right? We have drinkable, good quality water cheaply and easily accessible just about everywhere. We have adequate quality water delivered pretty much everywhere, that's safe for normal use, and probably safe for drinking. In southern California, MWD has spent around a billion dollars on primary filtration and treatment of water, and all they do is act as a wholesaler between the state water project and their utility contractors. Those utility contractors spend more money, to get stuff that's "safe" but tastes like crap. Bottled water is a racket in the US, costing 5-10 times what it costs down here, so a lot of people in the US drink tapwater because they can't afford a healthier and better tasting alternative.Originally posted by chegitz guevara

That's not the case here, so why should anyone spend hundreds of millions of dollars giving additional levels of treatment to a product for a purpose people don't really want to use it for, anyway? I wouldn't care how much they treated the piped in water, it'd still be calcium-laden, and pick up a lot of that yummy copper taste from the pipes it was happily corroding (always a problem in hard water areas).When all else fails, blame brown people. | Hire a teen, while they still know it all. | Trump-Palin 2016.
