    Some may. Most don't.

They sound pretty good, but I'm not religious so I guess that counts me out.... unless my supreme being is Barry White!

Masonry specifically states that it is not a religion and you don't have to be religious to join. You must simply state a belief in a supreme being. Who or what that is is up to you.

I am a Mason. It is the single best thing I have ever done.

Why? What have you done as a mason? What kind of activities are you obliged to participate in? How much do you pay the membership fee?. What is the web site of your lodge?

The association of the people that I have met an the ideals that are professed are fantastic. Beyond the initiation process you are obliged to do nothing more. The yearly dues for my lodge run $40.

In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it's my understanding that Mason lodges were hotbeds of liberal discussion. In the early 1800s they became more of a cronie society, where Masons got "favors" from others and such...after lots of reform, now they're, again, more of a community improvement group basically. At least that's what I picked up from the History Channel show.

3.) You must profess a belief in A Supreme Being.
Would it count if you considered yourself a supreme being, especially in comparison to everyone else who is apt to join a lodge?

In your case, that's grounds for an insanity plea.
