People, it's not warez-realted thread. It's the thread about my book. And Ming turned this thread to trolling, while nobody ask him to do so.

    Offtopic, but:
They're not concerned. The country does have issues far more urgent than high piracy rate.
    Well they should be.
Ming, you live in ****ly good country, if your country have no more serious problems than piracy.

Well, USA is developed enough to worry about stuff like that. And I like it how they actually protect people's property. Here, issues like getting medication cheaper, teacher salaries higher, as well as fixing the mass transit system are much more urgent.

Those issues are just as urgent in the USA. Medication costs are ridiculous even though most drugs are made in the USA, teachers don't get paid enough that many can't afford to live in the towns they teach in, and mass transit- uh, what's that?

Only for a small part of the American elite is intellectual property more important than those other issues. These are people who can afford to shell out $10,000 a year for drugs, send their children to private schools, and drive Hummers to work at 11AM.

Nah. American teachers get paid more than 120 USD a month, don't they? Mass transit - whatever the city traffic system is called, with buses, trolleyes and that stuff.

Here, new prices for medication may just pass, which will all but disable elderly people from visiting doctors.

An average American can afford buying some good stuff, as he makes 2000 USD a month. A usual worker here makes 200-220 USD a month. See the difference?

American teachers make more than 120 USD a month, but that buys you a whole lots less in the USA than it does in Latvia.

Unless you live in a city, you do not have decent mass transit in the USA. Outside the city, buses (trains and trolleys are very rare) only take you into the city and run once an hour. Most stores and other places outside of a city do not have mass transit serving them. Since most people have cars, society assumes you need a car to do anything, and for those who can't afford cars or are too old to drive, they can't do much.

Well, here, most people can't afford a car. And, if Americans get 10x more money, say, stuff costs 4x as much, so that's still better over there.

And it's the cities where our mass transit sucks espeically... connections between cities are sorta fine.

                  And now stop offtoping!

BTW, what do you think about interstellar mass transit in future?
