I hate to say it, but it looks OK . One tip would be to learn Russian punctuation rules.

-Àâñòðàëèéñêèå ó÷¸ííûå ïðîâåëè óäà÷íûå îïûòû ïî òåëåïîðòàöèè ìàòåðèè. Ïîäðîáíîñòè ýêñïåðèìåíòà äåðæàòüñÿ â òàéíå, íî èçâåñòíî, ÷òî ó÷¸íûì óäàëîñü ïåðåìåñòèòü îáúåêò ìàññîé â íåñêîëüêî ìèêðîãðàìì íà ðàññòîÿíèå îêîëî ïîëóêèëîìåòðà ñî ñêîðîñòüþ âûøå ñâåòîâîé. Íàïîìíèì, ÷òî ïîäîáíûå ýêñïåðèìåíòû ïðîâîäèëèñü è ðàíåå, íî äî ñåãîäíÿøíåãî äíÿ íå óäàâàëîñü ïåðåìåñòèòü îáúåêòû ïðåâûøàþùèå ïî ðàçìåðó ýëåêòðîí. Ó÷¸íûå âåðÿò, ÷òî áëèçîê òîò äåíü, êîãäà íîãà ÷åëîâåêà ñòóïèò íà ïîâåðõíîñòü ïëàíåòû âíå ñîëíå÷íîé ñèñòåìû.

Sorry, that one is screwed. Normal matter transportation doesn't mean you can transport humans... you better changed that to îáíàðóæèëè ñïîñîá îòêûòèÿ ÷åðíûõ äûð, ñ ïîìîùüþ êîòîðûõ ìîæíî ïðåîäîëåâàòü îãðîìíûå ðàññòîÿíèÿ, or something.

-Ýõ âû... ß ëèíãâèñòîì õî÷ó áûòü. Áóäó ïîñòóïàòü íà ëèíãâèñòà. Ó ìåíÿ ñ àíãëèéñêèì õîðîøî, íî îñòàíàâëèâàòüñÿ íà äîñòèãíóòîì íå õî÷ó.

The guy's 18... if all he knows then is some English, him for a linguist... hmm. Someone who's a skilled linguist would know at least 4 languages by that age.

      ïàïà þðèñò.

Æèðèíîâñêèé ? Best phrase so far .

Âñå êàê-òî ðàçîì ïðèòèõëè è ñòàëè ñìîòðåòü íà ãëàäü îçåðà, íà ïóñòåþùèé ïðîòèâîïîëîæíûé áåðåã îçåðà.

That's some beautiful scenery in that sentence and the previous one, but the word ïðîòèâîïîëîæíûé is far from beautiful or good sounding .

You don't see Stephen King or Ben Bova complaining about people downloading their books, unlike the BSA or the RIAA.

This simply is a social problem, not a technological one.

No there is no right answer for him.

He is constantly harping on how it's ok to steal software.
That since they are poor in his country, it's OK to steal.
But I'm sure if it cut into his ability to feed his family, he would be the biggest whiner of all.

It's not like people need to steal music or games to survive... so all he is really saying is that he is selfish greedy little thief... who is willing to steal just so he can add some new toy to his collection. If he tried that in a store, he would probably get caught and sent to jail... but since the odds of doing it on line and getting caught are slim to none, it seems to make it OK for him. What a hypocrit... It's more an issue of getting caught vs being right or wrong.

                Yep...

I don't really care if people want to do it or not. I just get sick of hearing people justify it, or say it's OK.

Again... would you go into a store and steal it? The answer is probably NO, because it's easier to get caught.

Theft is theft... if you want to do it, fine... just don't try to justify it or say it's morally ok.

Ming, you are wrong a little. If you had read my PM you would understand this. I said, that my mentality disallows me to waste money on something that can be obtained for a free. If i was well paid worker, it would be easier for me to buy legal, than to risk.

Ming, your American culture (or at least the part of culture that we see) is too polar. From your kidish movies (except south park) to your adult songs and books you are too polar. Jerry is good, Tom is bad. Harry is good, Voldemort is evil. Cop is good gang member is evil. I can see it (less but still remains) in Mark Twain books.
There is no such a polarity in Russian movies, cartoons, books. I suggest that you read Kivinov. Kivnov is genious Russian writer. He wriyes books, where criminals can be better than cops. Check out soviet cartoons (i can give you ed2k links to translted sovet kids movies). Look at the books, Dostoyevski did not write that Raskolnikov is good or evil.

I just tell you, that Bill Gates who have 100 G$ is not more good or evil, than poor Vietnamese man who pirate his WinXP (Ok if Bill pays me 1 M$ he is good ). I just want to tell you, that Sharon is not much good (ore more evil) than Arafat. I just want to say, that laws were made by ordinary people, who also are affected by love and greed, pain and fear. I just want to tell you, that most of Americans can not see nothing beyond their own nose, and it's one of the reasons of Sept.-11.

Can you get my point or no?

DaShi, i'll post you PM soon, dont forget to check your incoMING

Muxec: when you live in a society the rules that have been set must be obeyed or changed before those actions can take place without being labled by the mass and not just by your own personal morals and agendas. By you not excepting responsibilty for your own action you have removed yourself from the society and will be looked down upon by that society as being bad. This is fact.

Yet, I guess it doesn't matter to you. Since, in Russia, there really is no society, merely a ruination and shinning example of the failure of commuisim.

I can understand why you would remove yourself from said "society", but Ming is 100% on this. When it is YOUR goods or well-being that is being stolen from you the tables will be turned and you will be forced back into this society to persecute those who were once just like you.

Ming - a little clarification about morality issues. While piracy is morally wrong, people who pirate stuff probably don't think so. I'm judging by the fact that, well, they do it, so they agree that it's morally wrong, but not enough, or something.
I have talked to you about that, and agree that you're right... heh... I can't justify piracy.

It's not all about getting caught, though. Yes, pirating software has near-zero risk of being caught. But, if I could steal something from a store guaranteed I wouldn't be caught, I still wouldn't steal from it.

It's also a thing about childhood in some cases. When I grew up, there wasn't software to be stolen... I wasn't taught to respect intellectual property as I was taught to respect material property. Although, I do now respect intellectual property, primarily because I have quite some of that myself.

There's an excellent phrase concerning this matter. Ñòðîãîñòü Ðîññèéñêèõ çàêîíîâ êîìïåíñèðóåòñÿ íåîþÿçàòåëüíîñòüþ èõ âûïîëíåíèÿ - strictness of Russian laws is compensated by their optional obeying, that's for a rough translation.

No... I totally understand what you keep saying.

You are saying that your mentality thinks it's OK to steal.

You may say crap like "disallows me to waste money on something that can be obtained for free"... But there is a big difference in something that is truely free... and something that you are stealing.

Again... you bring up the "well paid worker" or that you are poor stuff as an excuse... that some how, that makes it OK. It's still THEFT. And it is wrong. If you want to do it... fine... but no "I'm not a well paid worker" or my country is different excuses...

You have never said what you do is wrong. You have always walked around this simple issue by making excuses and rationalizations...

Just state you know it's wrong, and that you just don't care.

Stop being a hypocrit by defending your theft. Just admit what you are.

I ask all you to stop discussing this. And note, that i did not start discussing copyright.

Finaly i want to qoute my conversation with one of the lead creators of Space Rangers (PC Game), the best computer game ever.
-I play warez version of Space Rangers
-And we used warez 3D Studio Max to create the game
-What'd you say if i copy warez version for all my friends?
                              -I'd say that it's OK
And your greedy developers will never create game better than Space Rangers, or Paradise Cracked. Nor your Sid Meyer nor your ****ing Microsoft games specialists.

                                1. Which game is the best is merely a matter of opinion.
                                2. I don't trust in programmers who don't care if you pirate they products. It means that they don't want the money from those...
