Well isn't that obvious? Most new immigrants HAVE to be outside the state... unless you think they spontaneously combusted there .
Combusted? Don't you mean...er...damn. But combusted isn't right; that would mean they bursted into fire in Texas--likely as it is considering the weather, it's not how they got those people.

Oh and by the way, we were talking about interstate migration, as in I requested data on most new people were from outside the state but still in the United States. If you knew that, then shame on you for making a cheap joke; if you didn't, well, now you do.

Find me data on how many Texans voluntarily go elsewhere. I don't care where. Just leave out retirees.
Hell, you like retirees, so include them.

Ya know. There IS a difference in a mere Yankee, and a Damned Yankee, right?
Mere Yankees go home. Damned Yankees don't.

And if you want to get technical, your source says that Texas gained 3.8 million people, 1.4 million of which were from interstate migration...doesn't sound like "most" to me, unless you had 1.2 million babies and 1.2 million Mexicans--unlikely, to say the least.

I apologize for my density, but I don't get that last.

Sloww, no search on Google turned up any quick answers, which must mean such statistics do not exist...

I'm glad to be the damned Yankee, if so. I'm not a quitter. (Nor am I a Yankee; never heard of a lot of Arkansan Yankees )

              Arkansas?? My mistake. I apologize.

I apologize for my density, but I don't get that last.
                About Mexican's and that.
Sorry, I used the term "Mexicans" to describe immigration to Texas that was NOT from the other states.

If that's not the part you were having trouble with:

                Texas gained 3.8 million people.

1.4 million of these people were from other states. Oh ****. It says since 1995 for interstate immigration, but 1990 for the total 3.8 million. ****. Well, maybe I can note it was majorly tied into a booming economy. Can someone else help me? I know I'm not the only liberal reading this thread.

(But Source also says it shows a 17.1% increase from the previous Census. If it's from 1995 since, then what Census was it from? What data are they comparing it to? Argh!)

But remember, just because someone moves there doesn't mean it's a good state. For example, one study said 50% of all adults aged 18 to 30 or something smoke, but does that make it good?

(However, since you threadjacked I guess that means you accept the initial thread idea that Texas needed some checks and balances against an almighty Republican machine? )

                  Arkansas?? My mistake. I apologize.
                  Arkansas is a natural.
                  Apology accepted.

                        Sloww, the source is worse.

Corpus, South Arkansas. What city is your mom from?

Okay, I'll admit, Texas has more new interstate immigration than most other states.

But what the Hell does it have to do with crooked Republicans?

Oh, and by the way, the initial new spin ("spin" seems to be a favorite word amongst you conservatives) was Sloww's copout about how Texas was "different". (Brought up the flags.)

Then Corpus started the troll-turned-threadjack about how Texas immigration is.

No Republican has yet to answer the initial question of Texas being corrupt.
