He is an American, and whether or not he supported the military action doesn't mean he doesn't care about or support the troops. They are indeed "ours."

That's a strange perception that you have. I don't support my President because he puts them in harms way for the greedy wishes of his rich buddies. There is a big difference.

Sava, I suggest you read up on the effect of the Progressive Party and other third parties in the early part of the 20th Century. You might find their effect on politics in the U.S. enlightening. The .$25 version is that they pulled American politics left, since the Dems had to go left in order to protect their flank and the Republicans went left to try and pick up the middle ground.

In our current political climate, when had no need to protect their left flank, they could go as far to the right as they liked, in some cases, going further to the right than Repulbicans (note Leiberman's campaign against the less conservative Republican incumbent). The only thing to stop the Democrats from continuing their imitation of the Republican Party is the Green Party.

Exactly, If there is not enough pressure from the left the 2 parties become rulled by corporate intrests.

If people knew the true history of the Democratic history maybe they wouldn't even vote for them when they cover their left flank.

I would point out that even joking about assassinating the President of the US is a crime. Last year, a man got a rather nasty shock, when he ended up being setenced to prison for saying, "I'd like to see a burning Bush" in reference to Bush's visit to Souix City.

It would also make Bush a martyr, which is the last thing we want.
