I dunno - does the Irish population in a given city commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime?

None at all. It has to do with overall percentages. Not that we should punish people for "overall percentages", but that's no reason I shouldn't take precautions.

I'm not saying every black person is out to rob me, I'm just saying that in a rough neighborhood with a lot of crime, at night, I'm better off looking out for my own safety and risking offending someone than I am with your attitude. I'm not coercing anyone.

But I don't have to tell you this. You know damn well that if a group of white punks were walking down the sidewalk towards you at night in an area where lots of violent crime was committed by white punks, you'd cross the street too.

So you don't try to avoid trouble?

Even if I were the best fighter in the world and was packing an arsenal 24-7, I'd still do the same thing. The idea is to avoid trouble, not find it, and in the example given, even you must admit that the percentages of trouble are higher than normal.

let me clue you into something... you are a healthy, well-built man in his early 20's... no random criminal is going to **** with you... there are far, far easier targets out there... the only thing you got to worry about is causing trouble yourself and getting hurt or robbed as a result. nobody's going to just mug you.

Seriously, the best way to avoid trouble is to avoid the potential of trouble, based upon what you know are valid percentages for the area in which you live.

reparations only make sense when one is an immediate victim of the crime. thus, jews who survived the holocaust may receive reparations, if they so chose. jews born after the holocaust should not even ask.
japanese americans who were intenred got reparations. japanese americans who never had to go through those camps don't, and it's a good thing.
african americans these days never had to go through slavery--thus, they do not deserve reparations.

this is not to whitewash the crime of slavery visited on their ancestors; however, because they themselves never had to suffer under the yoke of slavery, it is patently ridiculous for them to ask payment for services they did not render.

besides, if such a bill came into being, and was taken from tax dollars, i'd refuse to pay taxes simply on the principle that being a second generation immigrant from asia, i never had anything to do with slavery.

these people getting murdered in dark alleys are ghetto boys... they had beef with someone, caused trouble for themselves, and got killed... only proved my point...

nobody is going to murder someone completely randomly (except maybe by a cross-fire)... the worst that could happen to you is that you get robbed but even then, a mugger would rather rob a woman or something not a young male who's capable of defending himself and could be packing.

This is completely ****ing stupid. I'll tell you a story, 100% true.

Back when my friend was taking his driving school classes, a few years back, he used to walk back and forth from the school to his house. Remember, this was a suburb city, not that bad of an area - certainly a much better neighborhood than the kind we're talking about here. One night, on his way home, some guy (black guy, if you're asking) came up behind my friend, grabbed him and tried to take his wallet.

If this kind of thing could happen in that area, think what could happen in a much worse neighborhood. I'm not saying 100% that it would, just that it is much safer to avoid potential trouble than to try to prove I have big brass ones.

Fortunately, there's a happy ending to my story - my friend tossed the guy with a judo hip throw, and arm-barred him into a compound fracture, before walking away laughing.

lol... serves that suburban mugger right... not expecting someone to be capable of defending themselves... generally, in the city, we are wary of people having guns, razors, etc. and few muggers target anyone but women and older people.

most homicide cases involve the victim knowing the murderer... why cant you get that in your head? you won't get shot by a random person for no reason

Yet that still happens at times. I don't want to be one of those times.

And you know? Maybe the person just hates white people for whatever reason - a white judge sent his brother up for murder, who knows. The point is, no matter how uncommon (and it's less uncommon than you think), random murders/muggings occur. I'm gonna work to minimize the chance of it happening, as well as working on maximizing my chances of killing/otherwise defeating the killer/mugger should it happen.

think about what i'm saying... i live where you're scared to go and i never have no fear at all of being mugged or nothing ever... am i naive? doubt it... sounds like you're just paranoid about it
