If I lean on this stat generator referenced earlier, http://www.moonrise.org/livingcity/stats.shtml , do I use 32 as the building points ?

This "bonus" proficiency is only applicable to bards. Bards are restricted to simple weapons, but are allowed to pick one martial weapon from a list that they're also proficient in. It's not really a bonus. I think of it as a "we'll-let-you-pick-a-single-serious-weapon" proficiency.

just make a post describing your character and people will help you make him

while I ahve not described my character, I have an idea of her in my head (am just waiting to see if I can do human or have to do gnome)

I read in one of the posts that I could be both at apprentice level when my character is at 1st level according to the DMG or some such. If that is not correct, I'll change it.

Skillpoints for either Druid or Monk are (4 + Int modifier) x 4. Which is 12 skillpoints with your 8 (-1) Int. However, since you are Human, you get 4 additional skillpoints at 1st level, putting you at 16 points total.

Every character gets one feat at 1st level, and humans get a bonus feat at 1st level, so you have 2 feats to choose.
Thanks. In fact, the only thing I gain this way are more hit points I think. I can only have 1/2 skill points IIRC so everything evens out at the end.

I may want to bump my INT up one. Decisions, decisions.

                • Makeo,

You may want to have higher strength and constitution by lowering your Dex. You probably need thicker armour (why would a fighter wear leather armour?) - samurai did.

                  • like what I was going with when I created my character

I wanted her to be an artificer

so she needed to be good at creating things
                    she needed to be smart
she needed to be good with her hands (dexterous and lightning reflexs)
she would be good with devices but not with people
                    average in most other things
her skills came down to ones that assisted her with playing with devices or helped her play with devices or learn about devices (I am not entirely sure that I like all the skills right now, I might change some)

                    • For main attributes, do I need at least 14 in all of them to gain a +10% XP bonus?

                        you can

but you don't gain HP from both classes or skill points form both classes

I think you pick one class to be your primary class and gain it's skillppoints and HP but I could be wrong (no longer have the books with me)

never heard about a +10% XP bonus

and I don't think it is possible to get a 14 in everything with 32 points

                          • i have made my character have high dex because I want to be a finesse fighter. basically very similar to samarui (or at least the image of a samarui that i have in my head)

i don't know what kind of armour they wore but assumed it would be light. i want to do dodge blows rather than absorb them through armour.

                            • No, 6 x 6 = 36.

                              My tentative build:
                              Netural Good Human Rogue

                              Strength – 14 (+2)
                              Dexterity – 18 (+4)
                              Constitution – 10 (+0)
                              Intelligence – 10 (+0)
                              Wisdom – 12 (+1)
                              Charisma – 10 (+0)
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                              • Yeah but I don't think AD&D has a samurai class, except maybe in Oriental Adventures. So that means you can't really make a finesse fighter like you want to without the necessary skills and feats.
