Current rules for level 0 characters... none. You get a level 1 character that doesn't gain his second level until 3000 exp if you play an Aasimar or Tiefling (or any race with an effective level of +1 (for newbies: races that kick more ass than the standard races)).

Perhaps we could give level adjustment races the abilities from Table 2-22: Apprentice Level Characters in the DMG instead of the full class abilities, and then upgrade them once they get 1000 experience? It would make the ECL races more equal with the standard ones at the start, and give their players something to look forward to between the start and level three.

Not that either way will make a difference to me as I'm going to be playing a plain old human. Well, time to choose a homeland and start working out my character's background.

Total Weight: 33 lbs, light encumbrance, but pick up anything and I'll be in medium

Spells per day (5/4) DC 12 + spell level
Spells Known 0th: Flare, Light, Prestidigitation, Ray of Frost; 1st: Magic Weapon, Shield

I think that we are starting at level 1, you can multiclass when you level (that is how it is done in 3rd)

but Victor said to start at level one and we are playing 3rd I believe (which allows multclassing when you level)

if we are playing 2nd level characters (might be better than first, I don't know), than according to 3rd edition rules you could multiclass druid/monk (you would probably have to be lawful neutral tohugh)

monks of sun soul can multiclass (and continue training as monk afterwards) in any other class as long as Monk is the highest class
