Partly - certainly as much as we hand off functions to the Iraqis, the pro-Baathist types won't have near as much silent sympathy as they enjoy now.

Actually, if we were going to go to the trouble of faking evidence, it would have been much easier to do it early on, before the issue was even vaguely embarassing.

We could drag the ignorant press around, show them our version of a "Baby Milk Plant" , and then, in the name of security and safety for the whole world, blow up the "WMD" before anyone could verify they were fakes. We didn't do that, so my guess is nobody will bother now. Spin is going in the direction "well, even if we don't find any, we had reasons to get rid of the guy anyway."
