Forgive me my English. Detention is a new word for me. I simply didn't know how those capms called on English.

Soviet Russia didn't just have Gulags- it also had the Red Army purges, 'show trials', 'Soviet science' (holding back genuine Russian scientific achievement for Stalinist correctness) and anti-semitism/racism and imperialism of its own (Tatars, Volga Germans, the Baltic republics...).

I guess more people suffered from Western imperialism and colonialism, than from Russian imperialism. And Yanks also had segregation, KKK, lynches, "hunt for the witches", etc.
