Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I've PM'ed Ming about playing the game on the Apolyton- I was thinking maybe in the NES forum? If the Ming/the owners don't want it here, would you be willing to take it elsewhere?
yes, i wouldnt mind taking it elsewhere, but be warned, where the games goes, likely my apolyton time will go with it... i dunno if i should put a "" or a "", heh
Setting both campaigns in the same world could be interesting. Still, I'd want to talk to Japher/Lonestar first on that- I know practically nothing about Greyhawk as an example (aside from complaints that it's far too generic), and my version of Ravenloft might be rather different than the official one. There's also the issue of power levels- if one campaign wants to do a gritty low-level soldiers of the Crown style one, while the other wants to do a 10th level dragonslaying expedition, things can get weird.
That said, if it works out, it'd be really neat.

Therefore this is not a syllogism.
Put me down as a player. I don't know squat about AD&D 3rd edition though.
Vlad Antlerkov ran one before.

whoever is online at the time will play (other people will be in the bag of player holding) and there will only be one group

I would like to join in, if you'll have me. I'd prefer to be a player, but if you need someone to DM I'd be willing to do so.
I agree with Snowfire that character creation guidelines should be left up to whoever is chosen as the DM, though I'd like to put in a vote for point buy or the standard array.
I'd be entirely willing to DM, but I might not have all that much time in the next 4-5 weeks before college starts up again. I'll definitely play if not DMing (and if DMing expect a random NPC that seems to be part of the party).
My votes would have to go to 3.5 edition (though technically not out yet) and the Forgotten Realms.

Donegal: That's a good question, and probably the best thing to vote on. The easiest way is to just have an email list and send things back and forth to the whole email list. The problem is, that can be a bit slow. IRC is hard to schedule, and requires a GM who is quick on their feet, but moves at a good clip. I suppose the prospective GMs need to talk to MattH (who seems to be organizing this), but assuming we do in fact run multiple campaigns, the answer might vary by campaign.
In fact, instead of having a universal vote, it might be better for each GM to start a thread in the Stories & Diplomacy forum, describe the game, and have people who are interested in playing in that campaign vote there on how they want the game run- PBEm vs. IRC, lasting a year vs. lasting 3 months, and so on. For instance, I don't expect I'd run a game that Jon Miller seems to be suggesting- myself, I despise Diablo over tabletop where you have a bag of player holding and interchangeable heroes being tossed to hack at some threat. I'd most likely run a more plot-heavy, dungeon-light game. Another GM might want to run some kind of odd strategy RPG, where the players don't just adventure, but rule a kingdom and get involved in political intrigue. And another GM might run each of his characters individually, as they all compete against each other in one large city, or something like that.
