somewhere I read that says PS2 version supports 580i or something like that.

Xbox version however, supports HDTV no doubt...

SC2 supports widescreen format as well... so that should be fun to do tomorrow.

There's no such thing as 580i.

And apparently the Xbox version will be in 720p, or at least have an option for it. I'm hoping they actually get a stable framerate at 720p.

          There's no 5-somethings. Nor 6-somethings.

          The options are, 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.

PS2 & Gamecube are physically incapable of outputting anything higher than 480p.

              525p is PAL, no?
Or maybe not, PAL is 576 lines...

I've no idea what 525p, but I can state for absolutely certain that it isn't a real HDTV setting. At least outside of Japan.

From the google results I turned up, it seems to be a Japan-only resolution. And I've no idea why, you wouldn't be able to tell apart 480 lines from 525...

It's something different from NTSC, PAL, and HDTV, it seems.

Like from this tech info page: http://www.leader.co.jp/english/newpro/443d_gl.html
                  HDTV: 5H
                  525p: 6H
                  625p: 5H
                  NTSC: 3H
                  PAL: 2.5H

(don't ask me what the H means, it's just important to note the categories)
