like Imran, I don't see what the problem is... he's a religious man and religious people ALWAYS try to do the right thing and ask God for guidance...

i got a feeling that athiests automatically see any reference to God as evil... very odd thinking.

nah, not evil, just a sign of mental illness. Especially when one uses "God" as an excuse for one's actions. Religion should be private. It's funny, most conservatives want everything privatized. But yet, they want their religion crammed down everyone's throats. Very odd indeed.

you know what else is odd... how only a few percent of americans are athiests and yet the demand the leaders of the country to be athiests too

It's not a question of belief, but socialization. Little kids are socialized to be Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, etc. Again, it's not about demanding the leaders to be atheists. I don't care what they believe. It's about them telling over people what to believe. Religion is and should be private.

He didn't tell people what to believe, whether or not he actually said that.

Oh please... it's not as if Bush is handing out Bible's and telling people to believe. Of course not. It's more subtle than that. Every time our children are forced to say we live in a country "under god" (or faced with ridicule and social abandonment if they don't conform), every time we use money stamped with "in god we trust", every time I have to see a copy of the ten commandments in a GOVERNMENT COURTHOUSE, religion is being crammed down our throats. Most people are just too stupid to see it, or think it isn't a problem because they've conformed. We have a religious government. And don't bullsh1t me by saying we don't.

Nah, doesn't sound like Bush. I mean, most of it does, but not this part:

. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to
                      focus on them.
We already know that he does what he wants regardless of what the public thinks.

As far as the talking-about-god/no-talking-about-god issue, I'd say that I agree that religion should be a private thing- you can have your views, but that doesn't mean I need to hear about them all the time.

If we didn't have religious people, the would would be a much better place, and have a lot less people.

Which is amusing because Ventura is pretty weak minded himself .
