-Probably nobody. But it needs to be said.
While I prefer German and Italian, I find French to be a beautiful language. It is quite poetic, and it sounds lovely.

While waiting for my flight to London, their was a French family sitting in the airport, and they had a little girl, perhaps 6 years old, who was running around speaking perfect French. It is absolutely one of the most adorable things to hear!

While I'm griping, I HATE New York City.
Yeah, well, **** you, you ****ing ****.

Now we see the problem...you are afflicted with a severe case of extremely bad taste. Consult a doctor.

Strange how words look so similar and yet have a different meaning

Sorry, I don't know this word (and I'm too tired to think of a French word that looks like it).

I'm rather thinking about the strong difference between "ridiculous" and "ridicule". You English-Speakers use the word "ridiculous" when describing something big / huge. We French-speakers use "ridicule" to describe small / minuscule things (or ludicrous things)

More people probably speak Spanish or Chinese than Frog, panag.

            Same goes for english (almost)

But french still is an international language, more then chinese at least (and no, nr12 , nr 54, nr 87 does not count )

Knowing english will make french easier vocabulary wise, just be prepared to listen to the language, to the intonation.

Strangely enough no French Apolytoner has replied to your initial post Tassadar500.

Well, most of the good tips have already been given by the previous posters. IMO, learning through a software is rather difficult if you don't have at least a basis in the language learnt, I have tested a few of those softwares and I don't think that even the beginners level are really accessible without a minimal knowledge.

Watching movies in French subtitled in English can be a good start though you should perhaps investigate your neighborhood first, some associations or US/French cooperation organizations could provide French lessons for free or for a minimal fee. I know this kind of schools exist in France... why not in the states?

Whatever your choice be aware that French is a rather complicated language and that you will have to be very patient. Once you have learnt the basis, and if you enjoy role playing games, you can also pick a french version of a game you own (though you should avoid an Hexagonal translation of a White Wolf product). The vocabulary used in those games is generally simpler than the one used in other publications, role playing games also have the advantage to mix technical and "litterary" sections.

                You have all my support...

                      Bougre?

As for Pedarast, it is corruption of Paedarast (paeditrician). Paed = Child in Latin?

I hate the word "paedophile". It is a made up word by the selfish shameful shallow slobs who are child molsesters to make them sound more "acceptable".
