It has nothing to do with my writing. James Joyce is simply a better writer (in every conceivable way) than John Grisham. Yet more people read Grisham's books.

Read into that what you like.

I say again, those that can, do.

As for the Joyce V Grisham thing - of course best sellers are not great literature.

That's because great literature isn't as funny, witty, down to earth or lively as a best seller.

Personally I've yet to open any HP - but I don't look down on it because people enjoy it.

So how's about it, Agathon? Is there a story in that cynical hide of yours?

COULD YOU ENTERTAIN PEOPLE TO THE SAME LEVEL AS J K ROWLING????

C'mon, prove me wrong. I dare you.

I've just picked up two volumes of HP from the library where I work. After a half-hour of perusing, neither is witty, down to earth, or very lively. And not even that good for childrens lit, so I don't understand the appeal.

Yep. You are the only one who's noticed. I was using the Tongan flag for a while and then the Isle of Man. Back to Cuba eventually.

                FOAD, troll.

Adults have been going mad over children's books for millennia. They have waged crusades over children's books. They have fought jihads in then ame of children's books. They have killed and maimed and tortured and sacrificed in the name of children's books.

Serious novels are a modern invention. Don't get upset just because people still like children's books.

Another Potter fan, methinks. Doing well for a troll thread though; nearly 100 posts.

I'm not trolling on behalf of seriousness or against children's books; only against ****.

No I didn't read it properly.

I agree - they are kids' books.

I was refering to the fact that you bought some many parts of at least two series of books you found utterly unsatisfying. It astounds me.
