She is intelligent, articulate, and compassionate, and she has represented the interests of her constituents quite ably, which is why New Yorkers are satisfied with her job performance.

There's nothing foolish about her. There is something foolish about people denegrating her out of their knee-jerk dislike for her politics.
Mostly everybody outside of New York hates her... even democrats I speak to hate her.

Intelligent? Articulate? Perhpas.. compassionate? YEAH RIGHT! Actually I would have to say Condi Rice is my pick for a woman president. She has more brains then Hillary would ever have. She is highly articulate and has done her job extremely well.

    Check this out: http://www.rice2008.com/

    Condi Rice's resume:

Education: Bachelor's degree in political science, University of Denver, 1974 (at age 19!!!); master's, University of Notre Dame, 1975; doctorate in international studies, University of Denver, 1981.

Experience: Professor, Stanford University, 1981-present; Soviet specialist, National Security Council, 1989-91; provost of Stanford University, 1993-1999; top foreign policy coordinator for candidate George W. Bush, 1998-2000. National Security Advisor 2001-...

So who do you really want as the first women president? Some idiot like Hillary Clinton, or a woman who has the smarts like Condoleeza Rice? Who not to mention got her BA degree in Political science at the age of 19!

Sure, she's like a murderous dictator. Are you quite serious?

      ...in her own mind...
Senate REPUBLICANS have expressed their admiration for her.

Ok, got me there. PT Barnum was right aginst never going broke underestimating the intellligence of the American public.

Boris, Boris, Boris... Thanks for stereotyping.

Yet, how dare a woman get out of line, what is that Bill Clinton doing. He needs to step up and put her in place!!! Heck, we already had a woman president: Billery Clinton

Personally, I find it really easy to hate all politicians... especially liberal ones who don't get elected because of merit, but because of pity, backstabing, and sex.

She does inspire strong feelings, but this isn't remotely true. I love an Argentinean speaking about things in American politics of which he knows nothing.

Gallup has conducted a running in poll of her favorability rating, and in May it was DEAD EVEN at 43% favorable and 43% unfavorable. Unless you believe New Yorkers accounted for 43% of the population, you're once again completely wrong.

Intelligent? Articulate? Perhpas.. compassionate? YEAH RIGHT!
This is repugnant. Don't like her politics? Fine. But denegrating her as a person is despicable, especially since you don't even know her. You certainly have no clue as to her intelligence and compassion. She wouldn't be where she is now if she weren't smarter than the average bear. Nothing indicates she's stupid. I don't see you having proven yourself smarter.

I don't like Rice's politics, so won't support her. But, having a modicum of class, I won't denegrate her as a person in a petty smear campaign.

Most people don't hate Hillary, but she is far from admirable. I mean, really what has she done to deserve her place in life? I remember all too well the feminist types dumping on old Barbara Bush because she was "only" the wife of someone famous. Now Hillary comes along with the same credentials, plus a few shady deals like Whitewater in her past, and all of a sudden she's supposed to be wonderful. Yeah, right.

Many people are terribly disappointed in her for standing by her husband who is obviously a cheating lout. This wasn't true love here. This was shrewd cynical politicking and it cheapens her and her marriage. And the final insult is her book. You could almost here he saying, let's dredge up all the old dirt again so that I can make a fast buck. So excuse me if I find so little to admire.

Sorry.. I just don't like her politics that is all. Like with Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Ralph Nader. I just don't like her politics.

I think Rice stands a much better chance if she were to run against Hillary.

But you did go on a petty smear campaign of people who don't like Hillary!

Personally, by saying Hillary isn't a qualified Senator, people are basically saying the vast majority of New York voters who contributed to her landslide victory are complete dumbasses. While I think about 95% of Americans are dumbasses, she is a legitimate and qualified candidate. I don't particularly like her, I'd only vote for her if it was a choice between her and some Republican, but this blatant Hillary hating is stupid.

Condi Rice? bwahahah, Hillary might be lying about the Monica affair, but Condi is part of the administration that lied about going to war. She's a disgrace. She's either a complete moron for believing the bogus intelligence, or she's a puppet for the Neo-Cons. Either way, I don't want her in office.

The only woman in politics that I think would truly do good by being the first woman president is Nancy Pelosi.

I don't want to see Hillary president, I don't want Rice. They both suck.

Lied about the war? There was no lying about this war. This is a liberal conspiracy to overthrow the government. Rice is a whole lot smarter than any democrat out there right now. So she is not a moron. The Bush adminstration went to war with what they had as intelligence...

Lied about going to war? Give me a damn break..

Conversely, I remember when the reactionaries dumped on Geraldine Ferraro so viciously. Heaven forbid a woman dare to run for vice president!

Many people are terribly disappointed in her for standing by her husband who is obviously a cheating lout. This wasn't true love here. This was shrewd cynical politicking and it cheapens her and her marriage.
Countless people are cheated on and remain with their spouses. In fact, Christian traditionalists implore such people to stick together and work out their troubles. Who are you to judge her marriage? You don't know her relationship with Bill.

IMO, the fact that she has remained with him despite his philandering is because she really does love him, however much he hurts her. She could have left him in 1998 and not suffered for it, I believe. She would have engendered a huge amount of sympathy, even from those who previously hated her.

And the final insult is her book. You could almost here he saying, let's dredge up all the old dirt again so that I can make a fast buck. So excuse me if I find so little to admire.
Look at all the politicians who pen autobiographies during their careers. What makes her different?

                              And this comes out now?

Well the book with that passage just came out now.

Personally, by saying Hillary isn't a qualified Senator, people are basically saying the vast majority of New York voters who contributed to her landslide victory are complete dumbasses.

A little bit of A, a little bit of B . If Hillary ran as Hillary Rodham (ie, never married Bill Clinton) she never would have won. She won because she was wife of an extremely popular President. Of course many people win because of their fathers' names (Gore, Bush), but even they tend to be a bit more qualified for the job. I'd have prefered to see her work more in private life or for the next Democratic administration rather than jumping to Senator right away.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
                              - John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

I can't stand Hillary Rodham Clinton, but it has nothing to do with her being a sucessful woman in democratic or national politics. It has to do with her being an arrogant and obnoxious egomaniac.

Two recent examples come to mind.

A couple of months ago she was speaking in a senate debate. As her time expired, John Edward (D-NC, who I am no great fan of either) approached the rostrum to speak next. Senator Clinton, who was not quite finished yet, told him to "sit down, shut up, and look pretty." There is no need for such behavior by a public official.

In the interview which aired last week, Barbara Walters asked Senator Clinton about the failure of the Clinton health care plan. Senator Clinton described this as "another trial I had to endure", as if it were a cold, death in the family, or some other random act of Fate, not something which she herself was primarily responsible for. One might well have expected her to take responsibility for her actions.
